As a founder and Principal of
FourthFrame Technologies LLC, Jeff has over 22 years of
wide-ranging IT experience. For the last 6 years, Jeff’s
primary focus has been on Java, J2EE, and Web Services. He has
12 years of experience developing object oriented systems in
both Java and C++. As a FourthFrame consultant and J2EE
Architect, Jeff has helped customers with J2EE Application
Server evaluations, technology investigations, prototypes, and
software development. Jeff is also very active in a variety of
business development activities for FourthFrame.
Prior to FourthFrame, Jeff was a Principal
Architect at LION bioscience, a leading solution provider for
the life science industry, specializing in delivering
enterprise-wide software solutions to improve the drug discovery
process. Jeff served as the Senior Architect of the company’s
Corporate Architecture Group. The group shaped the software
architecture of all LION products across development sites in
Germany, England, and the U.S. He was instrumental in helping
drive the integration of the company’s three product lines into
a unified Service Oriented Architecture based on J2EE and Web
Services.
Jeff also served as the Lead Architect for
DiscoveryCenter at NetGenics, Inc. DiscoveryCenter is an n-tier
life science integration platform for research scientists, based
on J2EE, Web Services, and Oracle. He also worked very closely
with NetGenics’ largest customer, a German pharmaceutical
company, as a Solution Architect. In that role, he was in
involved in all phases of the project lifecycle to ensure a
successful project delivery.
Jeff began his career at Chemical Abstracts
Service, where he helped build a number of large n-tier, object
oriented systems, using C++, UNIX, and Oracle. He held team
leadership and software development responsibilities for
SciFinder, a research tool used by tens of thousands of research
scientists, and for internal workflow systems used to build the
company’s large text and chemical structure databases.
Jeff is a Sun Certified Java Programmer.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kent State University with a
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.
